WP1: Improving the status of wetland fragmented ecosystems is the main action proposed in the project and consists of hydro-technical works of ecological restoration of aquatic habitats, by dredging 13.56 km of secondary channels, running in two zones of the Şontea-Fortuna natural area, from the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. The execution of these works results in improving the conservation status of the habitats by restoring their connectivity to the main channels and, implicitly, the migratory routes of aquatic species, especially, in the Danube River low water level conditions.
